Welcome to our Bach Academy!<\/h4>\n

\nThe International J. S. Bach Academy
\n<\/strong><\/h5>\n

is an Institution dedicated to pedagogy and research-led performance of the works of J. S. Bach and his circle. The activities of the Academy include lectures, masterclasses, workshops, pedagogical seminars, individual lessons, research, recordings, publications, orchestral academies and concerts.<\/p>\n

The activities of the Academy go back to the German pianist Walter Blankenheim. Renowned for
\nhis interpretations of Mozart and Bach, he began giving courses on Bach Interpretation in the 1970s that took him all around the world. Together with Inge Rosar, Walter Blankenheim also founded the International Piano Competition J. S. Bach in 1992, which has been ongoing to this day, with a record number of contestants and repeat participants.<\/p>\n

From 2012, Prof. Inge Rosar together with Dr. Kirill Monorosi continued the tradition of giving Bach Courses. These have taken place in Universities, Conservatoires, and as part of Piano Festivals in many countries around the world, including: Argentina, Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, Korea, Mexico, Russia, Taiwan, and the USA. The course given in Brno in 2014 was even featured as the cover article of the Czech piano magazine Pianissimo! As the scope of the projects and undertakings grew, and began to include recordings, a new performance edition of the keyboard works of J. S. Bach, it was decided to unify all these under the roof of an Academy, creating programs that help bring our knowledge and experience with Bachs works to students, teachers, music lovers and the general public internationally.<\/p>\n

Since the travel restrictions due to the Covid-19 crisis, the offerings have expanded to ONLINE programs, including online lectures and online individual lessons, which are offered at a strongly reduced rate. This makes the offerings even more accessible to students and teachers, as it excludes expenses associated with travel and accommodation, and can be organised at a convenient time around daily commitments.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n
